The 361 wooden Malay-style chalets and suites of the Berjaya Tioman nestle among 200 acres of tropical gardens and have a marine wonderland almost on their doorstep. This is the only resort on the island with an 18-hole international golf course, elegantly wedged between the rainforest and the sea, but you can't stay here without visiting the outlying reefs either on a dive trip, a snorkelling expedition or a glass-bottom boat. Coral and Renggis Islands are particularly recommended.
