Grambling State University

"Major League Baseball is proud to welcome Grambling State University to its first appearance at the Urban Invitational presented by the U.S. Army," said Jimmie Lee Solomon, Executive Vice President, Baseball Development, Major League Baseball. "Collegiate baseball is a vitally important component of our game, and our annual tournament gives a select group of programs from around the country the exposure they deserve."

The 2011 Urban Invitational presented by the U.S. Army will feature three Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) for the first time in the tournament's four-year history. HBCUs Bethune-Cookman University (Daytona Beach, Florida), Grambling State University (Grambling, Louisiana) and Southern University (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) will participate in the round-robin, collegiate baseball tournament with NCAA Division-I school University of California, Irvine. The 2011 Urban Invitational presented by the U.S. Army will take place February 25-27 at the MLB Urban Youth Academy in Compton, California

In addition to private citizens, our company provides services to individuals referred by state-specific school districts, welfare, mental health, developmental disability, vocational rehabilitation and youth services agencies, as well as the U.S. Social Security Administration through the Ticket to Work program.
